Last week I volunteered to help out with SmallerIndiana.com’s Bigger Ideas conference in downtown Indianapolis. My friend PK and I seem to be getting in the habit of producing event journalismaround town. PK ran the camera while I ran around and gathered up people to be interviewed by Indianapolis meteorologist Paul Poteet.
Paul and PK where great to work with, and we got some great interviews with some amazing people at the event.
It is springtime, so I have been busy busy busy, but it isn’t all yard work.
Below you will find screen shots of a project I am working on for Birkhead Editorial. The client and I are very pleased with the results of our hard work, but we would like to ask for feedback from the infinite peanut gallery that is the internet.
Some background:
Birkhead Editorial is a Hi Definition editorial service helmed by Andrew Birkhead. Andrew is a seasoned story teller who’s mantra is to “Add Value” and his mission to “Make people, places, and projects better with my storytelling, compassion and passion.”
Please sound off in the comments. Does this site extend Birkhead Editorial’s brand? Does it portray Andrew’s mantra or mission? Does it entice you to explore? Can you find what you are looking for?
Some technical information:
This site will be built with Wordpress, and we will be using Vimeo to host all of the video work with a plus account so each piece can be viewed in Hi Definition.
I am looking forward to feedback. I will be starting the the build next week and will update with links when the site is live. Thanks for checking it out!
I was digging through some draft posts, and realized I never posted this, so consider this a lost and found piece. The video player above features a series of videos that my friend PK and I put together a few months ago for the Indiana Humanities Council during a First Friday salon with The Mind Trust.
The Mind Trust is a pretty cool education organization, and they are behind some pretty great programs. If you have time, they are worth learning more about.
I missed blogging for all of April, so I feel like I need to catch up a bit. After turning over another decade at the top of the month, I have been moving pretty much non stop.
Last week we (team at Community Health Network) launched a new look for the majority of eCommunity.com, the organization’s main site. As one can imagine, this took a lot of work from a lot of people, and there will be a lot of new possibilities with the way the new site has been built.
Outside of the 9-5 things have been just as busy. RockitBomb has been having some great guests, but is currently going through a bit of “dead air” as I work on some new stuff (HINT: It involves moving pictures). I am beyond excited to be creating content that I have had in my head for almost 5 years. In music news – I have also been recording a lot of sketches for Thin Fevers, and hope to get some stuff recorded with the band this summer.
For fun, my son and I have been all about 2D Boy’sWorld of Goo, which I picked up as part of the MacHeist bundle this year. We just beat it – and now I am thinking about buying the Wii version so can play it again and not be locked in the office.
Take some time and pledge. The easiest way to help is to do what I did, and pledge to help share the campaign. You can also give money or volunteer your time.
I don’t have a lot of readers, but everyone can help!
